You get an extension tube that serves two purposes. First, it can be used to give a longer mounting surface in mounts where the rings are further apart. And 2nd, it can serve as a sun shade. The polarizing filter reduces glare and reflections... Improves target acquisition in bright sunlight. The removable black rubber eye shade cuts down on reflection from the eyepiece...
