It requires a dedicated .22 LR bolt assembly (sold separately) and .22 LR AR-15 magazines (also sold separately). The barrel itself is premium grade and finished in the medium taper contour at 17" length. Add a dedicated 22 Bolt Group and mags and you are set to go, no adaptors or conversion kits necessary
