- This is the original magazine release lock for AR15/AR10 rifles to make them compliant with California's high capacity magazine laws. The law says the magazine must not be detachable conveniently. It must require "tools" to remove the magazine. The Bullet Button replaces your original magazine release button and will not release the magazine when you push on it. But it has a hole in the middle that will release the magazine when you insert a "tool". It turns out that the point of a bullet makes a perfect tool for pressing into the hole to release the magazine... And that's how it got the name "Bullet Button".
