When something works I don't change it. I have been using the 240 grain TC Mag Express in my Black Diamond since day one. They are harder to find now in NJ so I stocked up. While I have not used any of the new order yet - I did note that the bullet weighs the same as those I have in stock, I weighed them on the triple beam to verify. I did that because they are different in shape from the originals. The area fwd. of the crimp ring is not tapered but seemingly more squat if you will. This in turn leaves less material behind the crimp ring. (Obviously the diameter has remained the same.) I take it the manufacturer feels this will improve expansion. Time will tell. I do know that I was quite pleased with the expansion / weight retention of the original design. My best example of that is in the bullet I recovered from the offside shoulder of a 350+lb. boar I took with it. Passed through the center of the onside shoulder blade - the vitals - the center of the offside shoulder blade and was found between the offside shoulder blade and the hide while skinning. (100 Grain Pellet Charge & 50Yd. shot.) Negligible weight loss and magazine picture perfect mushroom shape. I keep it in my vault with other mementos and guns.
