Shaw Savage Barrel Kit
300 Winchester Magnum 24" Varmint Contour Stainless
barrel muzzle diameter approx. .865"
weight approximately 3lb
includes headspace gauges
includes barrel nut wrench
These excellent quality replacement barrels are threaded to fit the Savage Short Action 10, 11, 12, 14, 16 and Long Action 110, 111, 112, 114, 116 series bolt action center fire rifles including the Stevens 200 of identical pattern. These barrels will NOT fit WSMs nor Target actions.
Edge/Axis Fitting Information - Original Savage "Edge" Rifles were renamed "Axis". Receiver barrel threads on these rifles are identical but sometimes fit a bit tighter than they fit on Savage 10/110 series receivers. That makes them more difficult to install. Also, you should remember Edge/Axis is otherwise a different receiver than the 10/110 series... It will not fit the same stocks for example.

Nice quality
Very nice quality barrel. Everything is included to install the barrel. You need either a barrel vise or I used a receiver wrench that goes inside the receiver so I was able to install it without marring the barrel or receiver. You need a large torque wrench as you need to torque down the barrel nut to 75-100 pounds. The supplied go/no go gauges worked fine as did the barrel nut wrench. Barrel is nicely polished. I’m looking forward to shoot the gun and I’m sure accuracy will be good.

This is my second barrel from eabco and these people are awesome. Had my barrel ready in 3 weeks including custom threading and they even called me to let me know it was done and ready to ship. As always the bluing is beautiful and is an absolute straight shooter, will always order all my savage barrels from them.. keep up the awesome work and outstanding customer support. 5 stars+++

Mr.
I received my barrel kit quickly despite ordering around Christmas/New years. It was packaged well and the machine work and blueing was on par with what my professional smith turns out. I cleaned it and lapped with the bore paste before screwing it on. It fit exactly as it should on my Axis action. Shot 1 and lapped with bore paste again. Next I mounted my scope and gave it a rough bore sight. I then proceeded to put three shots all touching at 75 yards with oil and dry patches between shots. After completing break in, I proceeded to print groups ranging from 1/4 to 3/4 MOA out to 400 yards. This was with cheap factory ammo, it shoots even better at distance with my hand loads.

I installed the barrel without a hitch. The fit and finish are excellent. I won't have an opportunity to test fire until July. More to post later.

I have purchased this barrel in .223 and another in 6.5 Creedmoor, both group a 5 shot group under a dime at 100 yards off sand bags. If you shoot from a sled it is conceivable you will have one ragged bug hole with reloads. Very impressive accuracy for the value and I can not see a reason to buy barrels any where else. Plan on doing a 7mm-08 this spring when the barrels come in.

Don't Hesitate
I looked at this barrel for a long time and I finally took the plunge. I replaced the factory barrel that came on my Savage Axis with this Varmint. World of difference! Consistently shooting sub-moa groups and no need to worry about the heat anymore. It does add quite a lot of weight but it is worth it. The fact you get everything you need to swap the barrel in one kit, is un-beatable. One thing I did is buy a new barrel nut as well, made installation super easy.

Beautiful Barrel
This was a great deal for an awesome upgrade. The 24 varmint contour barrel is beautiful, and this kit came with barrel wrench, go no-go gauges, and cleaning products. I mounted to a Savage Axis with no problems. Don't hesitate to buy this kit!!

I've shot several of my friend's rifles built with these barrels..... They shot so great, i had to have one of my own. The package arrived quickly and the barrel was easy to install with the supplied kit. My first trip to the range, i was not surprised. .... this barrel performed to my expectations. Can't wait to put some more rounds down range and plan on building more rifles with ER Shaw barrels!

I have purchased 3 Shaw barrels and consider them to be a good value. If you just want to change caliber these barrels are certainly an economical way to do that on Savage rifles. They deliver MOA or better accuracy and match Savage factory bluing. The only issue I have experienced is the threads are cut pretty high so be prepared to sand down the threads or run a die over them before they can be hand threaded into the receiver. The quality of the barrel combined with inclusion of the barrel wrench and bore paste make this a good value for the price. Excellent for general hunting and target shooting, but not a match or competition grade.
