Savage Short Action Plastic Magazine Well - Plastic "Bottom Metal"

Product shipped in timely manner. The fitment was great, very easy to install and has done what I needed.

Bought to use on a Savage 11 bottom bolt release action being fitted into a Boyds laminate stock. So far so good as it allowed use of the factory magazine supplied on the original tupperware plastic stock.

I'm am very happy with the quality and fast shipping. I look forward to ordering in the future. The Magwell fit perfectly and required no shaving or sanding. For the price you won't get anything better.

The part will provide a bezel when making a hole in the bottom of a blind stock for using the Savage removable magazine. However the bolt to bolt distance does NOT match the Savage Axis XP short action. The holes are about 1/2" short. The front hole must be used for the front mounting hole in the barrel and the rear can be cut off flush. Then the rear part of the bezel can be fastened to the stock with epoxy etal. The quality is good and the part appears to be robust enough for frequent use.

After looking around for some options for the "Bottom Metal Component" that was required for changing out my stock on the Savage model 11 hunter XP I decided to go this route due to the part being fairly priced. I can confirm this will work on the Boyds At-One Stock and I am very happy with my choice. I am also not too concerned with this parts durability as its not really a part that needs structural integrity. The only thing that I found interesting was that the magazine was a little bit snug on the fit, however its not much of a bother. Overall this part fits nice in the stock and does its job.

Purchased this item to install on a Boyds stock that I bought for my Savage Model 16 6.5 Creedmoor . Was easy to install and was a perfect fit. Thoroughly satisfied with purchase.

Form and function is good only drawback is that is plastic I would have gladly paid more money for the same made in blued steel.

This item fit's and functions perfectly, I only wish it was available in metal.I purchased a Boyd's stock for my Savage mod 16, when the stock arrived, there was no provision to hold the magazine catch. After the fact, boyd's told me that Savage could supply a bottom iron that would work, if I modified the magazines. ($180.00, For $150.00 for the stock and $180.00 for the parts, (plus shipping) to make it work, I could have ordered a top of the line Stockies thumbhole, with a bedding block already bedded. And I'm pretty sure I will next time...) After much searching, I found this part, ordered it, installed it , happy ever after, Screw Boyd's. Very happy EAB customer, never again Boyd's.

Solved my aftermarket stock problem on a savage 11 XP that did not have the removeable bottom pieces. Mine was molded into whole stock. I can confirm this bottom piece fits the Hogue and Bell and Carlson stock

Was looking to covert my Savage 12 FV into a better stock for hunting applications and have it magazine feed. This bottom metal (plastic) fit the new Hogue stock perfectly and allows me to use Axis magazines. Highly recommend!

This item is a must have if you are replacing a factory molded stock on a savage short action with a choate, hogue overmolded or boyds laminate stock. It fit perfectly and helped me finish a project rifle for my daughter in law.
