Rimfire Riflescopes
Rimfire Riflescope Considerations
.22 Long Rifle firearms are usually shot at distances under 50 yards and parallax sighting error can be HUGE at these close distances. Most riflescopes with fixed parallax are set for 100 yards... Which makes them less than optimal for rimfire shooting distances. But a scope with adjustable parallax can dial out the parallax error and help you shoot your .22 LR more accurately.
17 HMR rifles like the Savage 93R17 and A17 can reach out further but have similar requirements and so we recommend adjustable objectives or side focus to give parallax adjustment.
Not all parallax adjustable scopes will adjust to short enough distances for rimfire. Look for scopes that are adjustable from 10 or 15 yards to infinity for best close distance rimfire results.
Below are some excellent scopes for your .22 LR and 17 HMR rifles. They're good tough scopes that can be used with equal reliability on centerfire rifles... But if you use them on your .22 LR, they'll do you proud. (For a broader explanation of riflescopes and parallax error, Click Here.)
