Choate Ultimate Sniper Savage Stock

See additional Fitting Information in the "Fitting Guide Tab" to make sure this stock works on your model.
Choate Ultimate Sniper Gun Stocks are like no other rifle stocks ever made. The unique appearance catches your attention but it is much more than a sales gimmick. The internal construction is a combination of bench rest precision and battlefield durability... Who in the world would dream up such an exotic rifle stock and why? The answer to that question is Major John L. Plaster, author of the best selling book The Ultimate Sniper... A masterpiece reference of shooting and fieldcraft. Maj. Plaster is the designer of this stock and that's why it's named after his book. Approx. Weight: 6lbs
The wedge shaped forend is for push-pull elevation adjustment when shooting from a rest. The slots in the forend are for barrel cooling. Embedded in the wedge is a rail for attaching bipods, swivels, etc. The narrow part between the forend and the receiver is stippled for grip. It's the balance point for one-hand carrying of your rifle. The nearly vertical pistol grip is the most comfortable grip position for prone (laying down) and bench rest shooting. The removable cheek rest comes in two different heights (included) and they have three mounting positions... so you can set up the stock to align your eye perfectly with your scope. On the bottom of the butt almost directly opposite of the cheek rest is an adjustable butt pod... It screws in or out to adjust elevation up and down. The butt pad is removable and accepts spacers to adjust your length of pull. Sling swivels are mounted on both sides of the forend and butt for flexibility when carrying or steadying your rifle with a sling. This stock is meant to work with your factory screws. Finally, the skeletized butt allows a two hand hold when the forend is rested.
- Designed to free float barrels up to 1.25 inches. There will be an 3/16 gap under the safety on all the Savage Varmint, Tactical and Sniper stocks. The action should only touch on the V of the bedding block and back of the recoil lug. The gap at the back is normal for Savage actions when installed in our stocks.
LOP: 13" with no spacers.
Anything that is not labeled "Detachable Magazine" is a blind magazine.

Great for bench rest, or a drag bag, wouldn't want to carry it through the woods
I ordered this for my Long Action/Right Hand model 110, 7mm Rem Mag. I would have given it 5 stars except the milling in the mag well wasn't complete. The aluminum bedding for the action to rest against was right for the long action, but the polymer material of the stock was not milled all the way to the aluminum bedding plate, causing the hidden magazine to be to far toward the rear, which caused the recoil lug sit on top of the aluminum bedding, instead of seating into the lug slot. But it only took a little quick work with the dremmel to make it fit. After that, it all lines up well, bolts right in, and fits just fine. The cheek rest is a little low, even the taller one, if you have your scope mounted on a 20 MOA rail.

This stock worked well with my Savage 12 fv. Fast shipping and easy to install. Its a lot heavier than it looks but that works fine for the purpose I had in mind for my rifle.

Excellent Fit/Finish and Quality
I bought this for a Savage 110 Long Action R/H Stagger Feed. I can't express to you how easy this was to install. The receiver dropped right in and both mounting screw locations lined up with ZERO issues! I've fired approximately 200 rounds from ranges varying between 100-500 yards and I'm thoroughly pleased with it's reliability so far. Yes, this thing is heavy! That being said I shoot this rifle prone so that is a plus for me! Throwing on a bipod was simple enough and the buttstock elevation knob is nothing short of cheating but I don't care! I ended up using the taller of the two cheek risers and my bolt still clears enough to cycle rounds and remove for cleaning. I ended up buying 1 1/4" Sling Mounts and put a M-1 Garand Style sling on it. My one gripe may be that I think it should come with some form of sling mounts pre-installed but obviously that's a subjective issue. For the price I'm not complaining one bit! Bottom line is I can highly recommend this stock!

Bought this for Savage 12fv . Dropped right in and fit perfect, only problem was the rear mounting bolt was just a little to long and would bind the bolt up when torqued down. Added extra washer and fixed the problem. This is a great stock and price was too.
from Oklahoma on 12/29/2019
everything dropped right in no problems would recommend it to anyone looking for new stock. it's heavy but its made to be heavy Sniper stock
from Palm Coast on 12/10/2019
The stock does what it is supposed to do. It is so heavy though that it is useless unless you are shooting bench rest. I let my 14 year old don pick it out for his rifle for Christmas. Now hex does not want to hunt with it anymore.
from Texarkana, AR on 12/2/2019
First off, the 6lbs noted in the product description is no joke, but the feel and comfort of the rifle after changing over to this stock is second to none. I wouldn't use this stock for a mountain gun by any stretch due to its weight, but for easily accessible field hunting or benchrest shooting - it hits the mark. Very happy with the quality and craftsmanship! Bottomline - Great stock for the price!
from Virginia on 1/29/2019
I’m pleased with the durability of this stock. I’ll be converting a factory long action pre-Accutrigger model 110 chambered in .243 to the Ackley Improved. 26” Shilen Ratchet Rifled Bull Barrel, snugged into this stock. I’ll apply a custom Duracoat finish. It’s still a project in the workingsOne problem that I knew that would encounter was with the Savage LA models, the bolt will not clear even the short comb piece, but I already knew a fix for it when I purchased it. I used a half round file to make an angled groove. The only other dislike is the molding seams are very apparent, not he a fine file and some wet sanding can’t fix. See photos.

At first glance, one may question the aesthetics of the Super Sniper stock, but there's no denying that it works great. My savage 308 hog hunter action fit perfectly, and after a quick 200 yard sight-in, rang steel at 1000 yards. Then it shot a 4 vertical group at 1000 yards. Proves you don't have to spend a lot of money for great performance.

300 Win Mag Savage in Sniper Stock
The stock is everything I was hoping for solid, and it was hard to choose .I am old school and only have wood stocks but this feels solid and with the thought out versatility of shoulder and cheek adjustments I can set up a right-hand bolt and shoot lefty Very satisfied tanks
from na on 7/2/2018
The stock is perfect, it fit my new Varmint barrel perfect, the extra cheack weld was a perfect fit for my tall scope mounts( vortex tall hunting scope mounts) it is a heavy stock. I plan on purchasing another one for a different caliber, this one is on a savage110 7 mm mag
from Wentzville, mo on 6/15/2018
A great stock for the price, well balanced, good features
The stocks weight makes it perfect for bench rest shooting. Stock is very comfortable, I had to do a little bit of Dremel tool work to get the action to fit perfectly in there.
from California on 5/8/2018
Heavy, bulky, rock solid and does exactly what it is supposed to do well and a good price. Great platform for stationary shooting.

Ultimate Sniper Stock for Savage Rifle
Man I have to say. I had buyers remorse after buying my Savage model 10 but once I added this stock it quickly became my favorite rifle and probably firearm. Love the looks and functionality. If I ever need to buy an aftermarket stock this is my first stop.
from NA on 3/19/2018
Choate sniper stock
This is a fantastic stock. It took me about 5 min to install and is a perfect fit.Very comfortable and produces sub MOA at 100 yds. As soon as it warms up going to take it to 700 yds. I matched it to a Savage Model 10t BA and love it. I would recommend this stock to any shooter who want to go the distance.
from western NY on 1/28/2018
Great stock, fit my .308 Savage 12FV perfectly. VERY heavy, which is what I wanted for the strictly prone shooting that the rifle is used for. Very happy with the service and lightning fast shipping. Highly recommended.
from Iowa on 1/10/2018
Ive had time to put a couple boxes of ammo thru my rifle using this stock and I find it extremely adjustable to fit my needs. Looking at Hydropainting it. I would recommend this stock to anyone
from na on 1/5/2018
Well made stock. Heavy, which is good for benchrest shooting. Caution, new action screws are provided which need to be used with this stock. I used this stock on a Savage 111 and the original action screws will not work with this stock. The supplied receiver screws need to be used. They are a different length than the original screws. The instructions do not tell you this and the screws are in a bag with the taller cheek piece. I set the cheek piece aside and didn’t realize that there were new receiver screws in the bag. Very frustrating as I modified two screws to the proper length and then afterwards found the new supplied screws which worked perfectly. Otherwise, I’m happy with the stock.

Ultimate sniper stock
Great product love the weight and features helps with accuracy and recoil makes a great sniper but that's what I was looking for I wouldn't buy if I wanted to drag it through the woods lol used it with a savage model 110 la action center feed blind mag everything fit and works great would recommend to anyone
from Hartselle on 10/2/2017
This is my second model of this stock that I have bought. The other is for a Remington 700. These stocks are heavy and very stable. They contribute to accurate shooting from the bench, all aided by the flat forearm and the solid aluminum bedding for the action. The barrel channel is so wide it will free float and not interfere with whatever diameter barrel you may use.

Choate Ultimate Sniper Savage
hipment was fast. Savage model 12 dropped right in with no problems. Feels much better than factory stock and makes it easier to get good cheek weld resulting in better accuracy.
from Highland Haven TX on 9/19/2017
the stock was shipped the next day. It needed no alterations to mount and fit like a glove. I could not be more pleased.
from delta co. on 7/20/2017
Great all around stock!
One of the most well designed stocks you will ever find for the money. They have covered every little detail. I was a bit sceptical at first because of the price, but they could easily charge a lot more for this stock. The quality is unbelievable. I will be buying another one in the future.

Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock
As advertised. Outstanding quality, s slight smount of Dremmel work necessary for my 116, but nothing yo sully my opinion of this outstanding stock
from Atlanta on 3/23/2017
I like it! I like the weight and it looks very nice. The stock really adds value to my Savage 300 win mag 111. I am however disappointed that you cannot incorporate the magazine in the stock. I'm sure with a little tinkering it will fit but the factory could have done that with some type of adapter.
from Ozark on 1/21/2017
Very good fit , very comfortable. Would and probably will buy another. Absolutely satisfied!
from Rockdale Tx on 12/10/2016
Fit onto my Savage 12 FV like a glove. Make sure to use the included action screws as the factory ones may not be long enough. The anschutz rail and rear monopod make this the perfect prone shooting platform. Works great for LH shooting a RH action.
from New England on 11/2/2016
I think this is the best bench rest stock I have ever used. You can just lay there on the check rest and look at the target and be relaxed ready to take the shot. What a great feeling. Thanks for the oportunity to try this wonderful stock out at such a great price.
from OMAHA, NE. on 6/26/2016
Very happy with this item better than expected, heavy direct and perfect bolt in fit. I sanded grips slightly due to a somewhat sharp feeling, now perfect. Thank you for a quality product.
from MILLVILLE on 6/21/2016
I'm extremely happy with the stock...but I have to make some modifications. My rifle is a Savage 110 and when I put it in this stock, the hammer won't release. If I loosen both of the bolts it will, but not if it's tight. When I took it all apart I can see that the hammer is gnawing at the stock. I have to use a dremel or a drill bit to carve out a little notch for it. Other than that I'm pleased as punch!
from na on 5/31/2016
300 win mag
Great stock for bench or prone shooting very stable platform. would not recommend if you plan on packing for any amount of time this thing is HEAVY!
from S. Oregon on 4/20/2016
I bought this stock for my model 11 hog hunter awesome stock. Fit right in like a glove tightened up my groups. Besides that it just looks bad ass I would highly recommend this stock to anyone.
from Texas on 4/13/2016
Excellent fit...good platform to build on.
from West Virginia on 4/8/2016
Recently purchased a Choate Sniper Stock for a Savage Model 12FV/.308, that came w/a plastic non-AccuStock. The action was a drop in, no additional fitting. Plenty of room for a bull barrel. Mounted a Nikko-Sterling 4-16 scope, and broke the barrel in on table top @100yds. Had to get the optional low profile sling swivel insert to mount my bipod, and removed the mono pod on the rear for shooting off a bag. Nice and heavy, very little recoil felt, because of the stock design, could use my free hand to push the stock into my shoulder, easy to use the 2.25# trigger. The beveled fore end rail that I had my bipod mounted to, I was able to make minor height adjustments by sliding the bipod/sling swivel fore and aft to raise or lower the point of aim, then re-tightening the bipod screw. Didn't mind the weight(target shooter), fit fine. When I ordered, I wish I would have known if there were moulded colors available, got OD green, would have liked FDE(un-available?), maybe black, but I can always paint it.
from Richfield, Wi' on 3/14/2016
I am happy with my new choate stock now that is on my savage 111. Unfortunately I was having issues with the internal clip. With my new choate stock, I noticed that the pocket was too deep which wouldn't allow my bolt to catch the top round to push into the chamber. I had to put shim stock under the magizine to position the magizine up higher about 3/16 of an inch. The metal clip that held my magizine in place on the original stock would not seat properly in the choate stock. It would stick up above the aluminum block which wouldn't allow my gun to lay properly into the stock. Fortunetly I was able to make some modifications allowing everything to come together. Other than the magizine issue I like the comfort, durability and how the stock is heavy duty and we'll put together.
from na on 1/18/2016
Nice comfortable stock, fit the barreled action without a problem. Comfortable to shoot with, but much heavier than anticipated.
from Rochester, IN on 1/3/2016
Nice stock, little heavy. Mounted a Savage model 10 in .308 and it fit nicely. It turns your rifle into a manual fed rifle. The bottom of the stock is solid, you cannot use a magazine. There isn't a photo of the bottom of the stock, if there had been I wouldn't have wasted time and shipping expense to return it.
from Tennessee on 12/30/2015
Choate super sniper
This was my second Choate stock, BUT it won't be my last. I chose the super sniper for my new D
from Fall River on 11/19/2015
Pulled the old one off and slipped this one on. No hassle. Almost too easy. Really like the feel of the rifle with this stock on it..
from Colorado on 10/17/2015
This stock is a nice upgrade from the factory stock. It is a bit heavy but I am building a long range weapon and not a hunting rifle. I did have to do some minor fitting of the stock to fit my Savage 10 but nothing that a quick run with a dremel tool could not resolve. I cleaned it with mineral spirits and then painted it with some Krylon paint. It took the paint very well and evenly. For the price this was a good investment and a nice upgrade, one of many to come. My shot grouping has also improved, not drastically but noticeably.
from Ocala, FL on 9/23/2015
Nice stock and recommended by my gunsmith he has several. Only suggestion you might want to put on the site that if you are using a .338 lapua they don't make a bottom spring/top load magazine to use in the .338 lapua and the Sav 111 takes a lot of machining to make fit. All in all great stock!
from kansas on 8/28/2015
Stock is great and fit snug as a bug in a rug. I installed on a Savage Hog Hunter 308 and it did help tightened a shot groups
from Evansville, Indiana on 6/6/2015
This stock is heavy and well built. The textured grip is very spiky, but is easily sanded to the users liking( only very light sanding was needed to produce my desired texture). It has an aluminum bedding block that requires no additional bedding and floats the tang of the action. The stock has a wide channel for even the larges bull barrels and vents to allow the barrel to cool quickly. EABCO's price cannot be beat and fast shipping!
from Alabama on 4/8/2015
Nice Stock,great fit nice price.
from Weirton WV on 3/11/2015
quick service and I like this stock it works great and looks very cool on the build I just finished
from Miami ,OK on 3/5/2015
I have been very impressed with my Choate Ultimate Sniper stock for my Savage 110FP. EABCO was great to deal with and there were no surprises in the transaction. The price was great, the service excellent and the delivery time as advertised. I will happily recommend EABCO to my friends and consider them for my next stock purchase.
from Arkansas on 2/26/2015
Product was extremely easy to install, and works as expected, meaning my accuracy has improved dramatically since I installed the new Choate stock. Quality parts, good looks, and ease of use, make this stock a pleasure to shoot. Highly recommend.
from Birmingham on 2/9/2015
Great drop-in stock at an even better price! As a left-hand shooter, my choices in after-market stocks are rather limited. So, I'm elated that both Choate and EABCO offer quality products to allow me to upgrade my firearms. This is my second left-handed Choate stock purchased from EABCO, one with the staggered feed screw spacing, plus, this one, with the center feed screw spacing, and the two have been easy installs and perfect drop-in fits.
