Choate Collapsible M4 Style Mil-Spec Buttstock fits AR15, M16, M4

This worked amazingly well and fit on my mil spec buffer tube without a single problem. I like the cheek rest as well as the storage of additional CR123s because I use an older EOTech that loves to eat those expensive little babies for breakfast. It is a little bit heavy It would be great if there was a left hand and a right hand version that only had a tube on one side or the other but also I'm not going on 20 mile patrols. The sling point is a little bit funky but I don't use it anyways so I took it off. For your usual mall ninja like myself this is a lifetime buy That looks about as heavy duty as it gets and would probably serve quite well as a full-on service rifle buttstock though it is a tad on the heavy side.

Good stock but I had to make a few modifications to it to fit my standards. I like it because it is simple and easy to work with. The look is great and I am in love the thickness where the storage tubes are as this acts like a good check rest. My complaints are the pad plate on the back wasn't flush with the plastic stock and it isn't very comfortable. The sling mount on the bottom juts out past the stock and doesn't swivel so I had to chop that and sand down the plastic to make it flush. Finally I added a Magpul rifle sling mount were there was a factory nut and bolt. Aside from those modifications I made to it, I would recommend that choate also try and curve the butt stock instead of making it flat like a meat tenderizer. Magpul has started to do it very slightly but if choate did the extreme version like seen in the butt stocks of the mg 42 and other older rifles it would set them apart from similar milspec retailers, add comfortability, and look extremely attractive.

After using an identical Choate stock on a M1 Carbine, I like the cheek weld that you get with this style. Bought this for my AR. Fits great, works as well as original but feels much better. Only reason I went 4 of 5 stars is the cost. Its a bit steep IMO.
