24" Long Range AR10 6.5 Creedmoor Barrel

This 6.5 Creedmoor chambered (DPMS style) 24 inch barrel is machined from 416R Stainless Steel with a bead blasted finish. Our Premium Series 6.5 Creedmoor Barrels are proof fired and MPI tested, ensuring the best in quality and accuracy.

6.5 Creedmoor is the perfect option if you're looking to maximize the accuracy of your .308 platform. Apart from a simple barrel swap, all parts, including the bolt and mag, remain the same as a normal .308 build. The inherently accurate 6.5mm projectile, the increasing amount of off-the-shelf match grade factory 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition, and the extremely soft recoil pulse all combine to create one of the best black rifle options available.

Should You Install a New Bolt w/This Barrel? Some of our customers have suggested that we should include a new bolt with our AR10 barrels. THEY say you should install a new bolt anytime you install a new barrel on an AR10 platform. On the other hand WE'RE trying to keep costs down and if you already have a good bolt, there's no sense in adding the cost of another one if you don't need it. So, if you want to add a new bolt to your barrel order, you can select "Yes" to add one for an extra charge. Our Nickel Boron bolts are excellent and reasonably priced!

Great heavy barrel. Combined with its weight and length this barrel will reach out and touch targets over 1000 meters.

The fit and finish of this barrel is flawless, the head space was perfect. I am using this for a long range prone rifle and have high expectation of an excellent shooter. I will update this review when I take it to the range but for now I will admire the way it looks.

Shoots great
I'm not the greatest shooter, but I have no problem shooting 300 yards with this barrel. I'm sure it can shoot farther accurately, but the range I shoot at only goes to 300 yards. I did polish the feed ramps, but for me that's half the fun of putting a gun together, massaging and putting the finishing touches on it. For me it's a great barrel for the price.

Good quality for the price
One of the things I did not like was the barrel extension nut had very sharp edges. Sharp enough you do not want to put your finger in it or it will slice it open. These need to be thrown into a tumbler for a week before they are used, to de-horn them. Took me almost 2 hrs to get rid of all the sharp edges. I handload so I do not want anything scratching my brass up. It was getting racing stripes on the bullet going in, which throws off the accuracy. And on ejection it was getting snake bites on the neck of the brass when the brass was hitting the extension nut during ejection. I was concern about the crown for it was not what I call a target grade crown. But once I deburred the extension nut accuracy was good. < 1 moa at 100 yards. I may recut the crown later on but of now it's working for me. Overall its a good barrel for the price and would recommend it for those doing a build. Just remember to take the time and remove all of the razor edges off the barrel extension nut.
