The Merit eyeglass aperture attaches to your eyeglasses or shooting glasses and has an adjustable peep hole. Turn the outside and the hole gets larger or smaller. It allows you to fine tune your sight picture with open sights for the best clarity and visibility in all brightness conditions. It works exactly like a camera aperture or the pupil of your eye. Using no lens, the Merit adjusts the size of its hole or aperture you're looking through, changing the amount of light admitted to lengthen or shorten the depth of field. You can actually see your sight picture sharpen up as you turn the adjustment ring. With practice you will be able to aim more and more precisely... It's amazing!
This Merit Eyeglass Aperture works for iron sights on most rifle and handguns. If you're using a rifle with a Williams WGRS peep sight or EABCO PeepRib peep sight, you should order the Merit Adjustable Aperture for WGRS sights.

merit aperture
To tell you the truth, I'm disappointed. Not because the product is of bad quality but because it doesn't seem to improve focus of the sights as much as is claimed by the description. Maybe it's just my eyes, I don't know.

Group Therapy
As a handgun hunter and competitive shooter,I noticed my groups increasing in size without optics. Using the Merit aperture has given me the crisp sight picture that is crucial with iron sights. My accuracy is back to my standards.

Merit Eyeglass Aperture
Having gotten back into recreational target shooting again and now being a Trifocal eye glass wearer I was struggling to get good focus on my front sight. Shooting became somewhat of a compromise of fuzziness for sighting. I tolerated it for a while thinking there was no easy choice other than get a pair of custom glasses made and those don't come cheap. I spoke with a Bullseye shooter I had sold a gun to and told him of my situation, he pointed me to Merit and said it works! After some research I ordered the Merit aperture system to put onto my current trifocal glasses though I was still a bit skeptical. Well, I will tell you I am impressed and delighted to actually see clearly my front sight as well as my rear sight and in fact the whole sight picture to target is wonderful. This optical aid is made with great quality, that is something I appreciate, it is very very compact and not intrusive. Once fixed to the glasses you can easily swivel the viewing aperture for precise placement and depending on how much light is present and the degree of sharpness you are looking for you can easily rotate the aperture opening for best view. Simply put, it works just fine! Get one and you will find yourself shooting more accurately.
