Mr.
I bought two of these kits & I love them. Everybody has quad, keymod, m-loc etc.. handguards, this is something different but still has area to mount small rails at any position you prefer. I installed this on midlength uppers and had no problem with gas block or gas tube fitting(low profile gas block). You will need two strap wrenches, one heavy duty wrench to install barrel nut to proper torque ( no way to know exact torque, but after building several uppers, you will know that you are at least 35ft lb. probably in 50 ft lb area just by feel) which is well into specification. Other strap wrench is to install handguard to barrel nut while holding barrel nut n place. Be very careful with threads on handguard, they are VERY fine and easy to cross thread. I did not have a problem, but be careful. Love the fit and feel of all the furniture included in kit. If you want something a little different, buy it, you won't be disappointed. Almost forgot to mention E-Arthur Brown company. They shipped on time & had no issues, have already bought from them again

Just what I expected This is the second one that I have. Shipped quickly & the price was lower than the first one!! Make sure you have a strap wrench & installation will be no problem! Most of my friends are wanting one for their next builds..

First of all, the item shipped quickly and was exactly as ordered. I had never done business with eabco before but after this order I would not hesitate to buy from them again. The Hogue overmolded AR15 set ships as pictured on this website. It included several rail sections, an offset section for mounting a light, barricade stop, the works. It also included the Hogue gun tool - more on that later. The grip has a nice slip free texture and the collapsible stock beats the standard M4 factory stock by a mile in terms of comfort. The rubber overmolded recoil pad on the butt of the stock helped keep the rifle seated against my body armor. Each of these parts install easily and without quirks. The handguard was appealing because it was a little more narrow than the usual quad rail design, and in any case, everyone has a quad rail so why not try something different. This handguard has holes for rail sections on the last couple of inches so you can easily mount a flashlight, back up irons or a bipod. A previous reviewer reported problems indexing the handguard to mount BUIS, but I found no problems there, the tube is adjustable and you control where the holes for rail sections wind up. The overmolded part of the grip was comfortable and much easier on the hands than a quad rail. Installing was a bit of a chore at first. A standard AR armorers wrench won't help you install the included barrel nut. The Hogue gun tool that ships with this set is unfortunately not very useful. It is a two piece tool made of plastic and requires some 'pressure/counter pressure' to keep together when using. I stripped out the grip surface of this tool trying to tighten the barrel nut and line up the gas tube channel and ultimately threw it away after cussing and fighting with it for half an hour. I then used a strap wrench (available at any hardware store) and had the barrel nut installed and the gas tube lined up in about 1 minute. Chuck the Hogue tool and use a strap wrench to save yourself the stress. After the barrel nut is on the rest is stupid simple. I have read complaints about this handguard overheating. I have had no issues with this. I passed this rifle around at the range and it was returned warm above the gas block but nothing close to hot. The overmolded parts all drew positive remarks for look and practicality. It has held up well and I would recommend this set to anybody who wants to church up their rifle without taking the ' tacticool' route.

Mr.
I am getting very good cheek weld with this stock, but the hand grip is just little bit to big for my gloved hand. I like the over-molded tube but I have my doubts that one could put BUIS on it, because front tube screws on to proprietary barrel nut. Almost impossible to align screw holes for rails with the rear sight. - Editors Note to Readers: BUIS is Back Up Iron Sights. Click on the pictures and scroll thru to see the several sight mounting and accessory rails that are included plus an illustration of the handguard assembled on a flat top AR15 to see height alignment. There's also a beauty shot of two rifles where the top one has BUIS front and rear sights mounted.
