Mr
i love this stock! very solid with no flex. fit my savage 11VT 308 win rifle like a glove with no mods other than a small washer under the front trigger guard/ rear mag well mounting bolt to space the mag well up a little bit. the only negative is the sling swivel studs rattle and i don't like that so i will silicone under or around them. i also will be using a cheek riser pad on it to raise my cheek up to see through my 6.5-20x50 scope. its mounted a little higher than i like but its as low as i can get a 50mm scope. i also added the savage metal trigger guard and did not have to modify the stock in any way for it to fit. i wish we could post pictures, i would like to show what it looks like.

Not bad at all
Just got this stock in today for my SAVAGE Model 11 VT (DSG) .223 REM. Read other reviews to prevent any surprises. I had to trim the (with the bottom of the stock up) left center portion of the opening for the trigger guard to slide in. A spot apprx 1 inch center and I only made maybe 5 or 6 very light and quick passes. This fixed the trigger guard binding. Then I went and got a 6mm flat washer (Lowes product#127074) and placed that between the mag well and the ALUM frame. This gave the proper distance that stopped the screw and MAG from touching the bolt. Once this was finished I bedded the recoil lug and will have to wait until that is done and will update this after I go to the range. I don't know how much this stock will increase my shot groups since I'm already just under .5 MOA @ 150yards using Hornady Match 68 BTHP and Benchmark. I love this rifle and this stock looks great on it. Can't wait to shoot it and see the any improvement. I gave it 4 stars based on initial glance and handling since it just came in. Once take the stock out to shoot I may update this posting.

Gun stock is great. However, your customer service is horrible. Need a mounting plate to make the stock work. The person I spoke with from your company had a don't know, don't really care. " Call Choate " was the answer I received. However, after having to ask for it, they did give me the phone number. Call choate, explained the issues and they knew exactly what I needed, and shipped it to me that day. Customer sevice is very important to me and my experience with yours was not a good one. I am buying 2 more of these gun stocks and that will be done through Choate and not your company. Dear Mr., Thank you for your input and honesty. We care, especially when it comes to the Savage stocks that have so many variations on models, that our customers order correctly. Choate is the manufacturer of these stocks and their technicians, therefore, are better able to assist customers with questions regarding fitting and functioning. Please call us if you have questions concerning our products and we are glad to help. However, if we do not know the answer, we will try to direct you to find the right answer. This stock has been recently added to our inventory and unlike the other Choate stocks, we found that Choate offers a mounting piece for the 250616 stock for certain rifle models (that are not easily identified according to Choate). We now offer these as a separate item for sale and offer pictures to help depict whether or not the item is needed. I’m glad Choate helped you get the part you needed. Thank you again for ordering from us and your input. Sincerely, E. Arthur Brown Company

This stock bolted right up to my Savage Model 11 VT. Can't specifically speak to any bedding/floating magic, but at the very least my groups have improved just based off of comfort and a full, consistent grip. I'm shooting sub-MOA groups at 200yds with 53gr VMAX. The standard height cheek riser (sold seperately) works great with low rings and a 44mm scope. The only drawback to this stock is if you wish to add another 1.5"+ to the length of pull with additional spacers (they include some, but I wanted to build it out longer) you'll need to source your own 3 1/2" - 4" screws. No complaints, elated with the purchase and happy I got it from Eabco vs other retailers who don't seem to give the most accurate descriptions as to which stock goes on what rifle.

Stock works great and fit was as stated. I mounted a heavy barrel Savage model 11 223 with no problems. Had been looking for a stock for this rifle that came from Dick's Sporting goods. Glad I found this one, I will be getting another one for my 308 same model. Rifle shoots great with stock.

Great Stock
I ordered this after reading multiple reviews. The stock is very solid, a bit heavy but shooting with a bipod, it is great. It was a drop in installation, literally took 5 minutes. The kit came with all of the hardware needed for the install, including additional bolts and a shim for the magazine. The barrel is free floated to the point of fitting around 20 pieces of paper between the barrel and the stock. This was on a Savage Hog Hunter, blind magazine. I would recommend this to a friend.

Put this stock on a Savage 10FCP Model K. Without a doubt, hands down!...this stock lends itself to stability, firm body to rifle alignment. I can honestly say that between my HS Precision stock and this stock?...The Choate wins hands down!!!! The girth on the pistol grip makes holding your rig dead still for those 1k shots easier.

It's pretty safe to say it hard to find after market parts that are good for Savage rifles. But this stock is among the better and much more reasonably priced. It feels sold and fit perfectly without any modifications. Definitely a good buy!

OUTSTANDING STOCK
Back in the old days of the early 90's, there weren't even a few aftermarket stocks for Savage rifles. As far as I can remember ( this was about 92'. Before the internet was world wide.) There were 2. McMillan and Choate. Well, McMillan wanted around 500.00 for their stock. That was a lot of money back then for a fiberglass stock. And I didn't have 500.00 but I knew I needed something better than the factory stock. Choate, offered a stock that I thought would work for far less than 500.00. I got one and LOVED it. Very solid, people complained of the weight. I humped that rifle for miles in rough terrain, I didn't notice it. Move forward to today. Once again, I was looking for an aftermarket stock for my new Savage Hog Hunter. MDL. 11 in .308. My first stop was Choate. And I wasn't disappointed. What and amazing stock! I have done business with EABCO over the last couple of decades and have always found their stuff to be top notch and at a good price. I found the perfect stock for my Savage and at the lowest price I could find on the internet. Brand new it was under 200.00. THAT my friends is an amazing deal that is almost unheard of today. The stock is extremely solid but doesn't weigh much at all. The aluminum bedding block anchors the action in and will not budge. The outside of the stock has a very nice pebble grain to it and a wide fore end. It comes with a sliding T rail to attach a bipod. The pistol grip is very comfortable and the cheek rest brings your eyes in line with the scope. It feels great on bags or off hand, kneeling or prone. I highly recommend this stock.

Savage 10T now has Choate
I received the Choate stock several weeks ago and the fit was perfect. I went to West Texas and shot a milk jug at 1010 yards. I'm not saying I could not have done that with the old stock, I just like this stock a whole lot more. The only negative is the adjustable bipod rail system under the hand rail has to be extremely tight and checked quite often as it will tend to get loose. All in all a GREAT stock.

Vastly improved my shot placement and bullet groups. I only used it out to 200 yards so far. Looks great, good sling placement, lots of choices for bipod 9 " in my case. Cons: I had to use washers under the trigger guard to keep the bolt from hitting the back action screw, small detail. Over all I love it!

Mr.
After researching several stocks, I decided on the Choate stock because of the many positive reviews I read; specifically its heft, the larger grip it has (I have larger hands), and because the cost was reasonable. In brief, this is a fantastic stock at this price point. It's light years better than the molded plastic stock my rifle came with, and it appears this stock has greatly improved my groups. Yes, some of that improvement is psychological, but not all...the aluminum bedding and full float from the tang all the way down the beaver tail has something to do with that as well. Finish was nice and smooth, and it was drop-in-and-play; no refinishing or edging required. So don't hesitate about "pulling the trigger" on this stock...it's an upgrade for your Savage Model 10 with heavy BBL that is well worth the money.

SAVAGE 10T CHOATE
I just received this beauty in the mail today, and wow am I not disappointed. Everything fit perfect, and the feel is priceless. Adds great ergonomics to your rifle. It took my short action 308 and made it look like a true sniper rifle, even more so added some accuracy with the grip. The buttstock helps with faster acquisition after shots. Highly recommended. US Marine approved.

Choate Tactical Savage stock
Awesome stock! If you're planning on humping around with this configuration, it adds some serious weight, but the added weight is well worth it. Makes my simple Savage fp10 - absolutely awesome! Fit, feel and finish are phenomenal. Feels very similar to Savages tactical/law enforcement equivalent, but sturdier, and a lower entry point depending on your gun. Highly recommended

I decided to take the plunge after all of my research led me to believe that this is the best stock that $200 can buy. After finishing my load development I managed to put 3 rounds into 1.8 inches at 600 yds (winchester brass weighed, cci 200 primers, 42.5 rl-15, 168 smk) In short, buy this stock and spend the money you would have spent on a chassis on ammo you will not be disappointed period!

I had my original factory stock glass bedded and that shrunk my groupings up but I still wasnt satisfied. After a lot of shopping around decided that in the price range this had the best and most extras. My 110 in 7mm rem mag dropped right in fits perfect and has brought my grouping down to .5 moa, if I really do my part I can get .25moa. I have read lots of people crying about how the stock is heavy but I like the extra weight behind the gun now lessens felt recoil. I have a konus m30 pro 6-25x44 scope on the gun. This gun now with 1000 dollars into it total shoots almost as good as my buddies 3500 dollar m40 build.

Fit perfect and no addition adjustments were needed. The stock is a perfect for my heavy barrel rifle. I have tried several brands of stocks and consider this one for the price a good purchase, I did not have to break the bank to get a good tactical rifle stock. The stock is very comfortable and well balanced while shooting. I am happy with this stock and will buy another for my next long range rifle purchase.

I will be the first to say that in this price range, it doesn't get any better. Was a true drop in stock that drastically increased fit, form and function. After mounting a bipod this thing is as rock solid as you can get. I would give it an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Thanks.

I bought a Savage model 11vt from Dicks Sporting Goods, the factory stock was flimsy and too light. I did some research and not wanting to spend more on stock than the gun its self I went with this stock. I ordered from EABCO it came with in the week, with a couple light magazine modifications and getting 2 longer action screws putting it together I was ready to fire. the aluminum bedding block is great for rigidity. weight wasn't an issue either way since ill be off a bench, bipod, or prone. rifle as it sets now scope and all weighs 14.33 pound which makes the .243win feel like a .22. if your looking for a reasonable stock with full function look no further.

I had my custom built bull barreled rifle in a weighted custom stock. it was to heavy to hump around. I purchased this stock. I can afford McMillian, but for the money this stock is just as good. I couldn't justify paying the price of a McMillian stock when this stock was just as good. it's not a finished ar well rounded as the McMillian, but i'm going to be humping this rifle around in the woods, and thru the brush. I don't mind if this rifle stock gets beat, banged or stratched(and believe me it will)!!

Savage Model 11 w/ Choate Stock
I got this stock for my Savage Arms Model 11 (.223 Rem) which I wanted to switch from an internal 4 rd. box magazine to an external removal magazine. This stock fit my needs; it has the full bedding, an adjustable swivel point for your bi-pod & was inexpensive compared to the other full bedded stocks on the market. The only issue I found is the grip around your palm is a bit thick, the stock is solid so it's on the heavy side & the barrel channel will accept up to a bull barrel so my standard barrel looks a little scrawny in it...but all minor issues that do not over shadow the improved features & accuracy I gained from installing my rifle in this stock.
